Happy Birthday Reese

Maddie was invited to Reese's first birthday. Reese is Erin's (Maddie's best friend) sister. Reese and Grey are only 7 months apart. It was fun to watch Reese attack her cake. Look at that sweet face!
The kids loved playing with each other and they all made a funny face for the camera.

Grey sat in a regular high chair for the first time. He did really well but mom forgot the peas and the oatmeal just wasn't enough.
Maddie and Erin love to play together. It is so fun to see how much they are alike and different. It is a perfect example of how bugs and princess's can play together. Both girls look up to Kenzi and love playing with her.

The eye balls arrived

For the last few months Maddie has been waiting for her Aunt Marcia to send her "eyeballs" Last year Aunt Marcia sent these horrible gummy marshmallows candies. Maddie was obsessed with them but didn't really like to eat them. She would take a bite and spit it out. I didn't think she would remember them but she has been asking her aunt for them all the time. Maddie saw a package and was very excited
Maddie opening her box.

Oh great, Aunt Marcia not only found the eyeballs again she found gummy parts. Fingers, toes, tongues and teeth. Yuk. Maddie told Aunt Marcia "I tried a nasty finger and it wasn't very good"
Maddie being silly

Central Market

We met our friends for dinner. Brooke and Maddie liked being outside where yelling loud was ok. They were being very silly for the camera.
Maddie and Brooke had a great time sliding.
Look at that smile
Maddie was very proud of herself here. Look at how black those feet are!
Tracey and Max. Max is getting really tired of having to watch the other kids play. He wanted to get out there so bad:)

Hockey Game

Daddy got tickets to the Hockey game. Grey loves his carrier.
Maddie thought hockey was cool but popcorn was much cooler. She wanted to carry the big bucket herself.

Watching like an old fan!
It was a little chilly in there.
Look at those big puppy dog eyes. Grey seemed to really like all the loud noises and co-motion

Lost Maddie

Yesterday I had a strange feeling and I hadn't seen Maddie for a while and I didn't hear her usually chatter. I started looking for her. Usually this means she is into something she shouldn't. I searched the house and then started calling loudly for her. I started to panic a little. After about 5 minutes I looked in Grey's room and found her fast asleep in the crib. What a relief :)

Day with Daddy

Daddy had the kids today while mommy was in a training. Maddie had the evidence of a great time all over her face when I got home. Yum Yum ice cream and spagetti.Maddie enjoyed taking her toys and scattering them all over the house.
Grey was in a very good mood. He found that if he kept needing a diaper change he would get to go without any clothes at all. He was excited to see that his main food source was finally home.
Daddy snuck in a game or two between diaper changes and feedings. Note the sweet potato on his shirt.
I make fun of the house and mess but in truth we should all take a lesson from a dad that doesn't get very much time off to spend with his kids. Us moms are so worried about picking up the house and making sure everything is perfect we sometimes miss out on the important things. Like the fact that Maddie will never be 3 years 3 months and 15 days again. Or Grey will never be 4 months 30 days again. I guess I realize that we need to let the small stuff go once and a while and just enjoy our kids and our spouses.

Happy Birthday Grandma

We visited Grandmas house to wish her a happy birthday. Maddie and Grandma colored on a giant Backyardigans book.

Grandma got to watch Grey roll around on the soft carpet. He gave her plenty of flirty smiles.

Maddie and Grandma enjoyed a nice swim. Maddie is pretty brave in the water and makes her mom very nervous but they both had a lot of fun splashing around. Then of course they ended in the nice warm hot tube. Happy Birthday Grandma

No picture please

Ok this is a funny story that a few friends have told me not to post. I have to because it is so funny. Maddie is very smell sensitive and picky about foods that smell. Well she has had a little problem this week and been gassy. She passed some gas last night and then got very upset because of the smell. She started to cry and told me she didn't like it. Then with tears in her eyes she turned to me and said "I don't want to smell like daddy" Oh the things kids say.

Bake Sale

Maddie had a bake sale at her school today.
The class had fun yelling "bake sale" as each
parent pulled up. Daddy came to buy some stuff
and I heard she was all business and didn't say
anything until he left. Then she told everyone that
was my Daddy.
This is Maddie eating her treat after school. She told me "Mom I am a big mess" and she was right.

My Diva

Almost every week Maddie and Grey get a surprise package from Nana, Aunt Megan or Great Aunt Marcia. This week Maddie was so excited to get a complete Diva outfit from her Nana. She wore it outside for me. The truth is she really cared more about the package of lizards Nana stuck in the box. We are so lucky that even though everyone is so far away they still are so much a part of our lives. I miss all of you and I know my Diva does too.

Hard Week

We had a bad week. Grey has been sick this last week with a cough, congestion and his first ear infection. Good news is that he didn't have Whooping cough which the doctor thought he might. He is such a good boy and really tries his best not to cry and even when he is feeling bad he shows his sweet side and gives you one of the heart breaking smiles.

Church event with friends

We went to a church event with our friends. Maddie, Erin and Kenzi had a great time. They rode the ponies and played in the petting zoo. Maddie loved the baby chic's. Boy was it hot out. The little one with Maddie is "her Erin" and Maddie loves spending time her.

Maddie Playing outside

Maddie had a great day out in the yard. We washed a very dirty dog. I think we had much more fun doing it then he did. Maddie used her sprinkler she got for her birthday for the first time and after a few minutes she thought that was fun.

Grey starting solids

Grey wasn't sure he liked rice very much. I think he likes the oatmeal better and so far he thinks peas are great. Maddie on the other hand tried baby food peas and thought they were the worse thing in the world.

Playing with friends

Maddie and Grey had a great day playing with their friends Brooke and Max. Maddie and Brooke made cookies and the boys just layed around and laughed at each other.
